Pentru că sigla şi marca costă foarte mult, chiar dacă nu ajută cu nimic, şi apoi mai sunt costurile de producţie, care, după cum se vede în poze, sunt imense, că nici chinezii ăştia nu muncesc degeaba, ci aproape degeaba.

Da, e adevărat că nu este o fabrică a Microsoftului, ci aparţine unei companii din China, KYE, dar … dacă s-ar respecta mai mult n-ar face afaceri cu asemenea companii. Valabil şi pentru HP sau Samsung.

Să vedem cum lucrează muncitorii:

• lucrează aproximativ 15 ore / zi
• sunt plătiţi cu 52 cenţi / oră – adică vreo 200 de dolari pe lună
• locuiesc câte 14 persoane într-o cameră, dacă aia putem să o numim cameră
• într-un spaţiu de 100 de metri pătraţi lucrează aproximativ 1.000 de oameni
• aerul condiţionat e pornit doar când vin şefii ăia mari
• majoritatea muncitorilor au sub 18 ani, 16-17 ani
• femeile tinere sunt hărţuite sexual
• … în rest mai sunt trataţi ca nişte sclavi şi nu au voie să bea apă sau să meargă la baie fără să-şi ceară voie

“Many of the workers here are fresh out of school. They come from relatively backwards villages and have not received much information about the real world. Many of them do not know what’s going on in society. Nor do they have any understanding of politics or their rights. The education tells them that Chinese people are happy and content and that foreigners live in war and corrupting capitalism.

“Once at the KYE Factory, most of the young workers quickly become aware that they have no future if they stay at this factory. The only way they can cope is to be satisfied with the status quo and to just do enough to muddle through without being fired. Most work for six months to a year before they leave. Their time at the factory could be considered as a process of coming to understand society.

“Turnover at this factory is very high, and they are constantly looking for new workers.”

“As management rarely gives workers permission to leave, they are cheated right up to the end. When workers flee the factory, they lose the 15 days’ wages that management withholds each month.”
